Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling specimens and operating analyzers from Beckman Coulter, Sysmex, and Siemens across various disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and immunoassay. This role requires expertise in running validations, writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ordering reagents, calibrators, and controls, and working with the Laboratory Information System (LIS). The technologist will also be responsible for creating reports and must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specimen Handling and Analysis:
- Perform specimen processing, sampling, and analysis using Beckman Coulter, Sysmex, and Siemens instruments in hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and immunoassay.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of laboratory tests, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Validation Testing:
- Conduct validation testing for new equipment, assays, and procedures to ensure they meet regulatory and laboratory standards.
- Document validation processes, analyze data, and prepare validation reports for review.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Write, review, and update SOPs for laboratory procedures, ensuring they are clear, comprehensive, and adhere to industry standards and regulations.
- Train laboratory personnel on new and updated SOPs.
- Inventory Management:
- Order and maintain inventory of reagents, calibrators, controls, and other necessary supplies, ensuring all materials are within their expiration dates and stored properly.
- Monitor usage patterns to anticipate needs and prevent shortages.
- Quality Control and Calibration:
- Perform routine quality control checks and calibration of laboratory instruments to ensure consistent and reliable test results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to equipment or test performance.
- Laboratory Information System (LIS):
- Interface with the LIS to input, retrieve, and manage test results and patient data.
- Create, generate, and distribute reports as needed, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
- Independent Work and Collaboration:
- Work independently to complete daily tasks and responsibilities, demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills.
- Collaborate with laboratory team members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless laboratory operations and patient care.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA standards.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AMT) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with proficiency in operating Beckman Coulter, Sysmex, and Siemens instruments.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory validation processes, SOP writing, and quality control procedures.
- Experience with LIS systems and report generation.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying laboratory supplies and equipment.
Work Environment:
- The role involves exposure to biohazards and chemicals in a controlled laboratory environment.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive annual salary ranging $33,862.00-$38,767.00
- 3% bonus of annual salary*
- 30 hours of PTO**
- 11 paid federal holidays
