Millwright Mechanic

1 Resource Group is hiring a Millwright Mechanic for our client that is located on the Northwest side of Houston, Texas!!

What we’re looking for is a Millwright Mechanic that is looking to be placed primarily in the field.  It is a combination job, approximately 25% of the time will be in the shop, 75% in the field, depending on the demand in the field.  The person would be expected to be put on a rotating call out schedule for nights and weekends.  One week of primary on-call, one week of backup on-call, followed by one week off the callout schedule.  Any unscheduled callout received is incentivized with an additional hour of pay per callout and Sundays we pay double the time for any call out or scheduled work.

Some travel is required.  Less than one week a month typically to places such as Corpus Christi or New Orleans and some months no travel at all.

TWIC will be required at many of the sites, as well as Basic/Basic +, fit test, and in good standing with DISA.

 Below is a list of items our field mechanics are expected to perform.  It is not an exhaustive list, but some of the most common services we provide.

Responsibilities

·      Assemble and install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and specifications

·      Inspect machinery and equipment regularly to identify any defects or malfunctions

·      Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure their longevity

·      Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide timely resolutions

·      Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while working on construction sites

·      Mechanical seal changes on barges, reactors, etc.

·      OBA replacements

·      Packing replacement

·      Reactors, mixers, grout jobs, laser alignments.

·      Alignments

·      Pump overhauls (in field and shop)

·      New installation settings, leveling, and grouting for new equipment (pumps, etc.)

·      Vibration analysis/field balancing fans, spin dryers

·      Gear box overhaul

·      Gearbox servicing, repairs, replacements

·      Fan overhauls overhang/exchanger (bearings, belts, belt alignment)

·      Blowers (lobes)

·      Mechanical consulting in the field

·      Must have 10 years’ experience working on pumps, barges, replacers and repairing pumps.
