Job Summary:
The Mortgage Intern will experience the day-to-day activities for supporting M/I Financial at our corporate office located in Columbus, Ohio. The Mortgage Intern will have an opportunity to rotate through corporate functions to include Secondary Marketing, Financial Services, Compliance & Quality Control, Underwriting, Warehouse and Funding, and Post Closing. The Mortgage Intern will also participate in weekly department and internship led training sessions.
To ensure that this is a well-rounded, real-world experience, the intern will receive guidance from senior team members, the M/I Financial corporate leadership team, and will participate in various team meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will learn through a rotation approach of on-the-job training and real-world experiences working alongside of seasoned professionals.
- You will be expected to provide first class service, participate in project assignments, mentoring and job shadowing while being woven into our business.
- Develop onboarding checklists for new hires in various functions and departments.
- Provide project management assistance for active projects and initiatives as well as support functional area lines of business.
- Assist with preparation of resource documentation including PPTs, checklists and procedures.
- Provided assignments that include the entire mortgage process, from the initial application stage to completion.
- Apply your skills and talents to improving processes and workflow.
- Share ideas, offer suggestions, and make an impact.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the mortgage process.
Requirements
Minimum Education/Qualifications
- Ideal candidate is working toward a bachelor’s or associates degree in Finance or Business Administration, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Additional Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Display excellent written and strong oral communication skills
