Full Job Description
We are pleased to announce an opening position in the Outpatient Department at Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. Currently Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is recruiting for a Full Time Outpatient Therapist, (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm). The Outpatient Therapist will report directly to the Director of Outpatient Services.
The Outpatient department affects the treatment provided to our patients in an outpatient setting. The Therapist will provide psychotherapeutic services to all patient and their families; serve as a member of interdisciplinary team supporting the organization's treatment program and philosophy and assure the deliverance of quality treatment to patients and their families.

Responsibilities include:
- The Program Therapist interviews patients and family members to develop a complete psychosocial assessment.
- To provide quality case management and psychotherapeutic services to all patient and their families;
- Monitors and documents patient's progress in achieving treatment goals and objectives in group notes, as well as through individual, group and family sessions.
- Provides direct-care to patients and family members through individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
- Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans for patients.
- Works with patients and families to prepare aftercare planning and provide community resources.
- Consults with doctors, case managers and nursing staff as needed to provide quality patient care. Contacts outpatient treatment providers as needed for coordination of care.
- Staff consistently with OPD for patient concerns and safety issues. Reports to community and/or state agencies regarding any patient issues as required by law. Represents hospital in legal proceedings as required.
- Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.
- Performs related duties, as requested.
Requirements
Education:
- Masters Degree in Social Work or Counseling required.
- 1 year experience in a psychiatric setting
Requirements:
- (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LPC-Intern, LMFT-A, LMFT)
- CPR (Upon completion in Orientation or have a current CPR) and Hospital De-escalation Certification (Upon completion in Orientation.
Experience:
- At least 5 years experience or combination education and experience preferred.
