Tapcheck is seeking a strategic and experienced Principal Product Manager to lead our card product initiatives. This role will own the comprehensive card strategy and be accountable for both the long-term strategy and the near-term execution of Tapcheck’s card implementations. Our goal is to provide the right payment instrument product to the right customer at the right time and aid them and support them as they progress in their financial wellness journey. Our current priority is satisfying the payment instrument card scenarios for the “unbanked” and ”under-banked” consumer segments. This role will also plan for future Debit and credit card products, including credit builder and rewards cards, to meet the diverse needs of our customers at all levels of employment and financial literacy. The ideal candidate for this role has deep experience and executional success in the debit and credit payment industry.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive card product vision and strategy that aligns with Tapcheck’s business objectives and addresses the needs of unbanked and underserved customers.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for Tapcheck’s card products, from ideation to market release and post-launch optimization.
  • Create detailed product requirements and specifications, prioritizing features and making trade-off decisions to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate closely with design, engineering, marketing, and finance teams to ensure cohesive and user-centered product development and delivery.
  • Drive product marketing efforts, including positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment on product priorities and progress.
  • Manage and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
  • Advocate for the needs of unbanked and underserved customers, ensuring that product decisions are informed by user needs and behaviors.
  • Drive innovation by staying current with industry trends, tools, and technologies, and incorporating best practices into the product development process.

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum 8+ years of product management experience. Ideally with a focus on launching card products and payment instruments in the financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of payments industry trends, consumer behavior, and the regulatory landscape.
  • Familiarity with modern product management tools and methodologies, and a strong understanding of the technical aspects of product development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas effectively and build consensus.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision making and KPI management.

Compensation: $210,000-225,000 + bonus + equity. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: location, experience, training, knowledge. and skills. Tapcheck reserves the right to amend, change, alter, and revise pay ranges and benefits offerings at any time. It is at the Company's discretion to determine what pay is provided to a candidate within the range associated with the role.
