Job Description
Amogy is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineering Manager to join our Manufacturing team. The Facilities Manager oversees the operations, maintenance, and expansion of Amogy’s current and future facility infrastructure. Reporting to the VP of Facilities, this position plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and efficient working environment in a PSM (Process Safety Management) facility. This position is ideal for a seasoned Facilities Engineering Manager who has work experience in managing a chemical manufacturing, pilot plant, or large scale R&D facilities. Plan and oversee construction, and maintenance of office, laboratory spaces and manufacturing facilities.
- Ensure that new facilities and improvements are completed on time and within budget.
- Establish and nurture contractor relationships and negotiations.
- Develop a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, for our facilities and laboratories, covering HVAC, fire safety, plumbing, instrumentation, controls, safety systems, electrical, and other areas as necessary.
- Operate and maintain the facility control system (PLC, SIS).
- Proactively troubleshoot issues and closely collaborate with engineers and contractors to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the Information Technology Manager to ensure equipment installation meets facility standards.
- Ensure office spaces are properly furnished, managed, and maintained, creating an effective work environment.
Manage operations of a PSM facility
- Ensure the day-to-day facility operations are compliant with the PSM standards.
- Ensure operations are compliant with safety procedures.
- Issue work permits and monitor contractors complying with EHS procedures.
- Lead incident investigations, thoroughly reviewing and approving corrective actions.
- Develop, improve, and maintain mechanical integrity (MI) program.
- Collaborate with the Environmental Health and Safety division to ensure that emergency plans are in place to support safety across the facilities.
- Play an active role in developing and improving facility procedures based on PSM guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Information Technology Manager to ensure equipment installation meets facility standards.
- Prepare and deliver division reports by expected deadlines and manage necessary reporting and audits.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends to ensure our facilities remain at the forefront of best practices
Requirements
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in managing/operating pilot plant or chemical manufacturing facility under a PSM program.
- Prior experience in construction project management is a plus.
- Proficiency in understanding chemical engineering equipment and systems to effectively communicate the needs of facility operations.
- Experience in operating facility PLC control system and SIS systems.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Professional licenses are a plus.
- PSM experience is a plus
- Experience with document control and change management (MOC) is a plus.
