Aethon Energy Operating LLC’s (“Aethon”) Revenue Accountant is primarily responsible for the processing of revenue from oil and gas sales including royalty distributions and preparation of ONRR and State tax reports.
Requirements
DUTIES & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare revenue sales allocation schedules in Excel as needed to process revenue
- Enter non-operated revenue sales information into Enertia accounting system
- Prepare/process state tax reports (i.e., severance, conservation, ad valorem)
- Report State and Federal royalties
- Perform account reconciliations for revenue, royalty and tax accounts
- Research and resolve owner inquiries, legal requests, and audit selections as requested
- Create/maintain gas imbalance schedules
- Mentor and provide guidance to other revenue accountants
- Complete other special projects and assignments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in onshore oil and gas revenue accounting
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Excel proficiency (pivot tables and v-lookups) required
- General ledger account reconciliation and journal entry experience
- Enertia oil and gas accounting software experience preferred but not required
- ONRR, State royalty and severance tax reporting experience preferred but not required
Personal & Soft Skills:
- Self-motivated individual who is dependable and can follow through on all assignments
- Able to complete complex tasks from start to finish with limited supervision
- Aptitude for recognizing, recommending, and implementing process improvements
- Able to communicate and work as a team member
- Strong analytical and organizational skills required
- Demonstrated dedication to managing multiple concurrent deadlines
Physical & Other Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Successful candidate will be able to meet company standard background check specific to individual role prior to employment and will be subject to Company Drug & Alcohol Program
- Position is an indoor office position which will require remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time
