Special Needs Education Soccer Instructor

If so, we at Super Soccer Stars are looking for you! We are looking for coaches for our Special Needs Program called Soccer Stars Shine. The Soccer Stars Shine program uses soccer as a vehicle to teach life skills to players of all abilities, including individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities such as (but not limited to) Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD and PDD-NOS. Through our innovative curriculum, designed by licensed therapists, we use soccer to promote socialization, strengthen peer interactions and advance gross and fine motor skills. With a low player-to-coach ratio, each player gets the individual attention they need in order to reach his or her full potential. All players are encouraged to work at their own pace while having a blast from the first touch on the ball.

Coaches can earn from $18/hour to $25/hour. Our coaches use individual attention to ensure every child has success. Our coaches use a non-competitive approach to ensure classes are fun with a stress-free environment. Our coaches use positive reinforcement to encourage children to do better and celebrate success. And finally, our coaches have a blast. They are open-minded and they know that coaching is a continuous journey.

Requirements

• Previous experience coaching, preferably with individuals with special needs.
• Knowledge of adaptive sports techniques and strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with special needs.
• Ability to adapt coaching methods and techniques to meet the unique needs of each participant.
• Certification in coaching or related field is a plus.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Background check required.
• Willingness to continually improve by attending regular trainings hosted by Soccer Stars

Schedule: This is a part-time position with flexible hours, primarily on evenings and weekends to accommodate participant schedules.
