Traveling Superintendent

The role entails overseeing the day-to-day operations of commercial construction projects. This involves effectively managing company resources and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed within contractual budgets, adhering to requirements, plans, and specifications. Upholding high standards in safety, quality, and productivity on-site is paramount. Additionally, the Superintendent will act as a key liaison between the company, the public, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers. 

Requirements

Oversee daily operations at the construction project site, including: 

• Establishing schedules 
• Managing project costs 
• Directing procurement of necessary tools and materials 
• Facilitating communication with internal and external stakeholders (project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, architects, engineers, crew, office staff, etc.) 
• Managing all job site personnel, equipment, materials, and suppliers 
• Ensuring and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity through consistent inspections 

Regularly, accurately, and professionally document: 

• Project schedules and progress 
• Work orders, meeting minutes, purchase orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), back charges, photo documentation, and safety conditions 
• Payroll and performance of direct reports 
• Safety conditions and accident reports 

Contribute to continuous improvement in product and service delivery by: 

• Avoiding and identifying errors 
• Demonstrating willingness to acquire additional skills 
• Making recommendations for procedural improvements 

Required knowledge and skills include: 

• Demonstrated leadership and delegation abilities 

• Understanding of building processes and methods 
• Proficiency with personal computers and construction software 
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints 
• Basic knowledge of construction trades and subcontractors' scopes of work 
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 
• Excellent customer service skills and initiative 
• Possession of a valid driver's license
