Hello, Academic Essay Editors!
My name is Tony and I am the CEO at College Admission Secrets - We have been helping high school students and their families achieve their college admissions goals for over 14 years. We have a deep understanding of the complex and ever-changing college admissions landscape, and we are committed to staying on top of the latest trends and best practices to provide you with the most effective guidance possible.
We are looking for a motivated Writer/Editor who will play a pivotal role in ensuring prospective students can craft compelling and unique college essays, as well as assist with various writing tasks throughout the year. Your primary focus during the college application season will be on providing detailed, constructive feedback to help students differentiate themselves through their voices in their essays. During the off-season, you will contribute to our blog, email campaigns, and other content needs.
This is a full-time remote position.
Requirements
- Excellent English written communication skills.
- Has at least 3+ years of experience in writing or editing in academic settings or various other venues, e.g., magazines, journals, newspapers, blogs.
- Experience in college admissions or college admissions counseling is highly preferred.
- A graduate from one of the top 50 universities in the U.S. is preferred.
- English/Communications/Journalism majors preferred.
Nice to have:
- Experience in identifying and executing opportunities to enhance essay quality and effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree and certification in Education.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing detailed, constructive feedback on students' college admissions essays.
- Helping students to refine their voice and make their essays stand out.
- Collaborating with students to ensure their essays are polished and meet application requirements.
- Providing essay editing and ongoing support for our students.
- Contributing to our blog, email campaigns, and other writing tasks during the off-season.
- Staying up-to-date with college admissions essay trends and best practices to provide the most effective guidance possible.
- Assisting in other writing tasks as needed.
