Acentra is looking for a Business Analyst Associate to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The role of the Business Analyst Associate is to assist in analyzing business problems, identifying gaps, and providing technical support in areas around basic to moderate information systems. This role assists with several requirements throughout the project life cycle and involves an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. This role is a member of the Business Analyst Team and reports directly to the Business Analyst, Director.
Acentra Health supports a high-volume healthcare data system that is accessed through multiple web portals. This high-volume system operates out of multiple data centers and must reliably be available to its clients 7x24x365.
Job Responsibilities:
· Works under close supervision with clearly defined guidelines and direction from senior Business Analyst team members
· Functions as an individual contributor to develop and modify documentation related to basic to moderately complex information systems and participates in design session activities.
· Assists in performing analysis of current business and user needs.
· Assists in creating use cases, workflow diagrams, and gap analysis to create or modify requirements documents and design specifications.
· Communicates issues and risks to manager and direct supervisor.
· Supports testing, user acceptance testing, and implementation of information systems.
· Helps Training team with end-user documentation.
· Performs analysis of current business and user needs and participate in developing solutions to existing business problems.
· Knowledgeable of one or more modules
· Demonstrates adequate knowledge of business analysis methodologies, best practices, and procedures; and learns to apply them to projects to ensure business analysis objectives are achieved.
· Conduct and participate in requirements management activities and design session activities.
· Assists in acting as a liaison between the client and the technology teams.
· Possesses unwavering commitment to customer service and operational excellence.
· Keeps abreast of new technology and market developments (including federal regulations)
· Requests and gives both negative and positive feedback.
· Participates in collaborative sessions to document healthcare business processes.
· Provides requirements statements and business rules to articulate the end-user functionality.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Understanding of SharePoint applications, Webex, Skype, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio, with a working knowledge of the rest of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Knowledge of requirement management tools such as Reqrace Web, Jira, CaliberRM, RequisitePro, Rational Doors Next-Generation.
- Ability to write clear and concise requirement specification documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
· Experience in the healthcare industry, ideally domain knowledge of Medicaid or claims processing systems.
· Experience with the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
· Balances multiple projects under direct supervision
· Proficient in SQL
· Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
· Ability to adapt to task and project changes.
· Ability to handle multiple projects with varying priorities.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work as part of a team, willingly share time, knowledge and information with others.
· Understanding of the systems testing life cycle (STLC)
· Flexibility in working under demands and needs of a project
