Specialty Chemical Manufacturing seeks a Chemical Sales Executive to drive growth in their specialty chemical toll manufacturing business, focusing on Intermediates & Additives. The candidate will cater to diverse markets such as pharmaceutical intermediates, nylon and polyester fibers, cleaning products, agricultural products, paints, coatings, fuels, and energy.
The role involves expanding business with key multinational clients and uncovering new opportunities in sectors like Energy Oil and Gas, Consumer Products, and Performance Chemicals. The executive must understand the company's chemistries and manufacturing capabilities, collaborating with development chemists and engineers to optimize product opportunities. The position is remote, ideally situated near a major transportation hub.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivating new business with multinational customers.
- Identifying and securing profitable prospects in target markets.
- Maintaining and strengthening customer relations.
- Developing and executing strategic account plans.
- Providing account, business intelligence, and competitive activity insights.
- Crafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Offering market analysis and pricing recommendations.
- Producing accurate sales forecasts and budget reports.
- Anticipating travel requirements of about 40%-50%.
- Requirement of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
Requirements
ssential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience in chemical sales.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in direct field sales or business development, particularly in chemical product sales. Experience with chemical additives and intermediates is a plus.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical external manufacturing sales and regulatory materials is advantageous.
- Experience with sales in Energy (oil & gas) and outsourced chemical sectors is beneficial.
- Excellent self-management, time management, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong capabilities in fact-based and relationship selling, with a good grasp of financial analysis and management.
- A strategic understanding of business operations and market intelligence gathering.
