Full Job Description
Agricon is currently looking for an EIT to join our team and who embraces our culture. Agricon provides specialized pre-engineered metal buildings for large scale industrialized agriculture production. Candidate must be self-motivated and capable of participating in both front end design efforts for budgeting and planning, as well as executing back end final design for manufacture and development of construction documents. Position is an opportunity to work remotely, with limited travel required. Structural Engineer (EIT) will report to the CEO of the corporation.
Job Functions:
- Structural design and analysis of various pre-engineered steel structures including buildings, catwalks, equipment supports, platforms, etc.
- Structural design of buildings system including trusses, bracing, connections, secondary cold formed framing members, metal panels, and fastening systems.
- Support of the estimating department to ensure proposals accurately reflect design.
- Coordinate and convey design to the drafting staff to develop Building Information Models (BIM) in Tekla.
- Review building model, material takeoffs, and part drawing sets for conformance to engineering intent.
- Update, maintain, and advance internal design tools (Excel sheets, etc.)
- Review shop drawings and respond to fabricator requests for information.
- Perform periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections.
- Direct, review, and redline erection drawings to confirm accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with sales team, designers, and building contractors on design and construction of projects.
- Manage engineering efforts to ensure deadlines are met and support personnel are properly utilized.
Qualifications:
- Experience with ASCE 7
- Experience in Agricultural or industrial
- Experience with AISC and/or AISI
- Proficient in English
- Proficient in Spanish, not required
- Familiarity with RISA or similar
- Metal building knowledge
- Familiarity with Tekla, preferred but not required
- Familiarity with the Latin American and South American market, preferred but not required
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
1-2 years experience (preferred but not required)
