Full Job Description
Wildlife Habitat Council’s (WHC) Coordinator, Certification works under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Certification to conduct day-to-day tasks related to the certification standard, application process, and WHC Conservation Certification website. The Coordinator provides scheduled support and communications to certification applicants. This role requires technical agility, administrative skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines
Requirements
- Serve as a point of contact for applicants with questions about Conservation Certification and the WHC Conservation Certification website
- Perform strategic outreach and scheduled support to contacts regarding program progress and outcomes
Contribute technical conservation expertise and support both internally and externally
- Keep records of external communications and internal meetings
- Assist in coordinating, preparing, and participating in webinar trainings for applicants and reviewers
- Participate in the further development of the certification standard and the Conservation Certification website
- Assist in tracking potential changes to the standard and update documents annually
- Support research initiatives and contribute to strategy development (e.g. study external ESG frameworks, standards, and biodiversity metrics)
- Collaborate internally across departments such as Consulting and Business Development
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in wildlife management, ecology, natural resources, or a related field
- A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize amid various aspects of a job
- Analytically minded
- Experienced with data entry, management, and quality control
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Able to communicate with diverse audiences
- Customer service-oriented attitude
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Experience in organizing and facilitating meetings
- High degree of proficiency with common technology tools including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
- Ability to mirror WHC’s values and associated competencies internally and externally
Benefits
The position is included in WHC’s dispersed workforce plan, providing the employee a choice to work out of the organization’s Bethesda, MD office or from home. This position is mostly office based, with limited physical work. Occasional travel for internal events (staff retreats, WHC Conservation Conference, or similar) is expected.

Salary: $45,000-$50,000
