Cybersecurity Analyst

Description

Avint LLC is seeking a driven and dedicated Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic team supporting the Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of the Inspector General (HUD OIG). This role presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to maintaining the security posture of a vital government organization.

Position responsibilities:

• Generate and disseminate various reports on a recurring basis, including daily information security reports, weekly administrator account reports, and reports from other government agencies.
• Use a diverse suite of cybersecurity tools to ensure the security and operational effectiveness of HUD OIG systems.
• Conduct security engineering tasks such as updating Splunk servers and deploying software agents to endpoints, ensuring the integrity of critical systems.
• Monitor and assess HUDOIG's security posture by inspecting endpoint health and promptly responding to cyber incidents, contributing to a proactive security approach.
• Evaluate the security of software packages requested by end-users, leveraging federal and third-party sandbox solutions to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Work within an information security team to offer expertise and capabilities to address challenges and shortcomings as they arise within the environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or a related field; or equivalent certification demonstrating proficiency in the subject matter.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in the cybersecurity or information technology field, with a demonstrated understanding of industry best practices.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and articulate complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Security Clearance required
