Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be versatile in network security, infrastructure hardening, and Fortigate firewall configuration. This position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience in securing critical systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortigate firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security.
2. Implement and manage network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
3. Conduct network and server hardening to minimized vulnerabilities and protect against cyber threats.
4. Design and implement secure network architectures, considering best practices and industry standards.
5. Monitor network traffic and analyze security logs to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
7. Develop and maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and configurations.
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, techniques, and technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
9. Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and stakeholders.
10. Assist in performing security assessments and audits to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Requirements (Must Have)

· Design, implement and support enterprise scale network and security, working with Next Generation Firewall products Fortinet using Fortimanager and Firepower using FMC.

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
2. 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with a focus on network security and infrastructure hardening.
3. Strong expertise in configuring and managing Fortigate firewalls.
4. Hands-on experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
5. Knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and security best practices.
6. Familiarity with server hardening techniques and secure configuration management.
7. Experience with virtualization platforms, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
8. Working knowledge of cloud security, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
9. Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell, for automation and security tool integration.
10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think like an attacker.
11. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
12. Relevant certifications, such as CCNA Security, or Fortinet NSE, are highly desirable.
