Position Overview:

The Data Center Construction Manager at Utilities One will lead the complete lifecycle of data center construction projects, from initial planning to final delivery. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of construction project management, experience with data center builds, and strong leadership abilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, safely, and to the highest standards.

Requirements

Responsabilities:

• Develop and manage detailed project timelines, budgets, and resource plans for data center construction projects.
• Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project specifications, milestones, and goals.
• Supervise all on-site construction activities, upholding strict safety protocols and quality standards.
• Oversee daily site operations, including inspections, contractor coordination, and progress tracking.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with key vendors and subcontractors; negotiate contracts and monitor performance for quality and compliance.
• Ensure all contractor work adheres to project specifications and meets defined quality standards.
• Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
• Approve expenditures and provide regular budget status updates to senior management.
• Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout all construction phases.
• Conduct safety briefings and maintain adherence to safety guidelines across the team.
• Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or budget overages.
• Facilitate timely issue resolution by coordinating with stakeholders and addressing project challenges.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and ensure compliance with specified standards and regulations.
• Implement quality control measures and correct deficiencies as identified during construction.
• Maintain thorough records of all project activities, changes, and key decisions.
• Prepare regular project status updates and comprehensive reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as PMP are a plus.
• Experience: 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably within data center or critical infrastructure environments.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction project management tools, best practices, and techniques.
• Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and standard office applications.
• Commitment to Standards: A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and quality standards.
