Acentra seeks a Data Engineer to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
This position is for a Data Engineer responsible for the successful delivery of ACENTRA’s technology initiatives in a multi-Cloud platform. Candidates for this role will be supporting the development for Sales, Growth, and Business Development requirements working cohesively with database developers/leads, subject matter experts, database administrators, architects, data quality analysts, and other teams to manage client relationships.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of data configuration management, backend (database) development, and synthetic data creation under the guidance / direction of subject matter and technical experts in ACENTRA’s Technology functional department
- Prepare Data Engineering requirements, support solution and design, participate in meetings with Functional/Technical Leads to understand requirements, and build Logical and Physical Data Models.
- Contribute to code refactoring and data model re-engineering to support potential customers.
- Experience in query optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Maintain and optimize data pipelines and workflows using AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, S3, and Lambda.
- Leverage AWS cloud-native data storage solutions, including S3, DynamoDB, and RDS, for efficient data management.
- Ensure data security and compliance in cloud environments following best practices and organizational guidelines.
- Utilize AWS monitoring and logging services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and IAM roles for efficient data operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support scalable data architectures using AWS best practices.
- Enhance Data Engineering skills on new practices, frameworks, and standards, interact professionally with all organizational levels, mentor other developers, and present technical analysis to internal and external clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following preferred majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience and demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of database programming and performance tuning using SQL, various relational database management systems (RDBMS) with a primary focus on Oracle, UNIX, and shell scripting experience.
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
- Experience in healthcare industry, Medicaid and/or Medicare.
- Good understanding of various relational (such as Oracle, Postgres) and non-relational databases (such as NoSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Excellent experience and demonstrated proficiency in various aspects of database. programming using the Oracle and Postgres Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). Sound knowledge of Oracle SQL / PL/SQL and/or related technologies that encapsulate SQL, including Triggers, Procedures, Functions, and Packages.
- Excellent understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data models to translate business requirements to update data models.
- Excellent experience creating database tables, views, medium to complex stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Excellent experience in fine-tuning SQL queries, stored programs, and improving application performance.
- Excellent experience in implementing data partitioning, data retention, and data archival strategies working in very high-volume database environments with minimal downtime
- Experience in building high availability and scalable applications, identifying and reducing data redundancy and inconsistencies, and implementing database security to minimize vulnerabilities.
- Experience working closely with other developers to integrate databases with other applications.
- Experience with Oracle 19c is essential; familiarity with Postgres is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Good facilitation skills.
- Should be able to support high level and detailed presentations to the target audience.
- Good record of accomplishment in all aspects of the software development life cycle.
- Good knowledge / experience with UNIX and shell scripting.
- Requires the ability to develop needs assessment methods, both qualitative and quantitative research for information related to databases of public health.
- Must possess the ability to work independently on assigned projects, especially cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals; attention to detail; ability to work independently.
- Travel will be required.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $121,920/annually - $152,400/annually
