What you will do
- Oversee and manage a team of Project Engineers and engineering contractors in supporting the optimization, design, development, construction and operation of distributed generation projects including microgrids, solar photovoltaic and battery storage systems.
- Provide guidance on priorities and objectives to Project Engineers.
- Establish and implement design standards for high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage aspects of the projects.
- Collaborate with customers, utilities, AHJs, and third-party consultants to support the design and engineering of complex projects.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, new project requirements, and emerging trends to inform project strategies.
- Share technical knowledge by coordinating with cross-functional teams throughout various project phases.
- Deliver design, modeling, and technical support from initial customer solution designs through to successful project implementation and operation.
- Ensure that all projects incorporate engineering designs of appropriate quality, completeness, and performance, ensuring specifically that the asset output, constructability, and maintainability are appropriately addressed.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide technical support for operational systems and equipment.
- Guide team member professional development.
- Participate in the design of business processes that facilitate engineering design, project delivery, operational readiness, and ongoing O&M of renewable energy facilities.
Who you are:
- BS, Engineering, or related field, with a passion for power systems and renewable energy or equivalent experience. PE a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in power generation. Distributed generation, isochronous grids a plus.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, codes, and standards.
- Knowledge on Interconnection Application requirement in multiple ISOs.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A lifelong learner committed to staying ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving renewable energy landscape.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience working in the renewables and environment industry, with a focus on developing and implementing solutions that accelerate the energy transition.
- Familiarity of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency measures.
- Experience with energy generation technologies including one or more of the following: solar, wind, battery storage, geothermal, biomass, fuel cells, EV charging.
- Working autonomously on deadline-driven projects, your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will ensure on-time delivery to stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Field experience commissioning distributed generation equipment a plus.
