At Indiewalls, we collaborate with hundreds of artists to source art for the most complex and design forward developments around the world. We are a full service art consultancy that handles everything from creative art proposals, to production, through commission supervision, and install coordination. Our clients include the corporate offices of Amazon and Google, hotels such as Ritz Carlton and MGM, luxury cruises and multifamily projects, and healthcare facilities.
The Director of Operations at Indiewalls will oversee all operations with the mission of setting industry-leading standards of excellence for our client services, deliverables, and experience. We prioritize quality over cost, requiring a strategic combination of team, process, and tools. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leadership and coaching, a relentless drive for client satisfaction and operational efficiency, and a strong understanding of finance and technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team capable of managing complex projects and delivering exceptional client experiences. The Director of Operations will directly manage 3-5 Project Leads, each of whom oversees 2-7 project managers and curators. The role involves coaching the team with a focus on cultivating a strategic mindset when approaching projects and clients, ensuring both creativity and operational success.
- Wowing clients: Ensure that client expectations are regularly exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and minimize costs.
- Project Oversight: Monitor the progress of ongoing projects, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine operating procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Technology Implementation: Select and implement appropriate tools and systems to support the team's work and improve communication.
- Pricing and Cost Control: Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with company objectives and ensure profitability. Monitor costs throughout projects and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a management role within a project management or operations environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing teams and completing complex project deliverables.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing and implementing IT systems that support business operations.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive company-wide initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in fast-paced environments.
- Comfort with the unknown and self motivated.
- Experience in a similar industry (company providing products or services to the real estate industry) and/or with a company of comparable size is a plus.
- Experience with some of the following is a plus: Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sales Force, Hubspot, Quickbooks, Asana, Airtable, and/or File Maker.
