Role Overview:
We are looking to bring on a Director, Technical Accounting, remotely based in the continental United States. Reporting to the Company’s Chief Accounting Officer, the Director, Technical Accounting will be a key leader of iR’s accounting function and will have the opportunity to work in a challenging and engaging environment. They will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting processes during this period of significant growth and change.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead external SEC financial reporting process including timely and accurate development, approval and filing of 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC documents, including XBRL tagging
- Build and manage team to ensure alignment of department demands with being a public company
- Manage preparation of financial statements, footnote disclosures, and management’s discussion and analysis and other analysis for SEC filings
- Own the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation process
- Lead complex accounting matters, including business combinations, stock-based compensation, goodwill and intangible impairment assessment, etc.
- Perform technical accounting research and prepare or review internal memorandums to document iR’s conclusions on complex accounting topics
- Determine potential effects of new accounting standards to the organization and effectively communicate the impact to key stakeholders
- Liaise cross-functionally to ensure accurate accounting treatment for complex matters
- Point person for the quarterly reviews and annual audits performed by external auditors
- Leverage experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance to enhance internal controls and financial reporting processes
- Update SEC filing drafts throughout the various stages of preparation to address feedback provided by members of the disclosure team
- Evaluate in partnership with SEC counsel 8-K filing triggering events including preparation of significant tests for acquisitions and divestitures
- Update policies, procedures and drive continuous improvement
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects
Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related required
- CPA required
- 8+ years of progressive technical accounting required
- Public accounting required, Big 4 or large regional firm strongly preferred
- Start-up, IPO or public company experience required
- Tech or SAAS industry strongly preferred
- Exceptional understanding of US GAAP
- Workiva or similar financial reporting system preferred
- NetSuite or similar large ERPs preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Positive attitude and thrives with change
- Outstanding communication skills and able to operate in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
