POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for overall technical product support of assigned fleets. This includes in-field technical investigation with suppliers on component issues, maintaining logs on technical issues, compliance with company policies, assist in warranty situations, gathering product failure information. Reports to Regional Product Support Manager.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Understands the New Flyer Core Values and uses the Core Values as a guideline for conducting all New Flyer business within and without of
- the New Flyer Organization.
- Understands and organizes ECN/EAD information that spills into the field, provides technical insight into our product as needed, and performs
- Diamond 1 investigations upon request.
- Review ITSs for technical or practicable errors, perform ITS trials.
- Maintain a toolset sufficient to do repair work on New Flyer buses. (Wrench sizes up to and including 1”, etc.).
- Writes technical summary reports as assigned
- Gather and communicates data on field technical issues.
- Communicates general information on product reliability to the RPSM.
- Communicates effectively to leadership through regular phone calls electronic communications (e-mail) and technical reports.
- Writes PPT presentations communicating details of technical issues when requested.
- Completes standard documents such as expense reports and travel authorizations correctly.
- Report customer complaints quickly.
- Arranges travel at least two weeks in advance as per NF travel policy.
- Travel to WPG as assigned.
- Reviews iBus website regularly.
- Must be able to read, interpret and analyze CAN Data.
- Problem solving with a heavy focus on customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel - 75 percent based on location and business needs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- 2 yr. Technical College or equivalent.
- Heavy duty mechanical, electrical/electronic troubleshooting and EV experience.
- Computer based service tools, CAN logger.
- Valid driver’s license, CDL recommended but not required.
- Must be able to perform workman like duties similar to field technician.
