Walnut Way Conservation Corp. is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our team and play a key role in managing our financial operations. This position is essential for maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting to support our mission-driven initiatives.
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with budget preparation and audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for financial integrity.
As part of our dedicated team, you will help Walnut Way Conservation Corp. achieve its financial goals and maintain transparency and accountability in our resource management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Conduct reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and guidance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Implement and maintain financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with program managers to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging accounting regulations and best practices.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role in accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise financial reports.
- Strong organizational skills and time management capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
