Starting Annual Pay ~ $69,000 Annually. We are proud to offer this competitive salary, with the final salary determined by geographic market rate for the selected candidate.
This role will work from home (WFH), and can be located in any state within the United States where Rise Against Hunger currently operates.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Global Operations Manager will work to implement, monitor, supervise, and control Rise Against Hunger’s domestic operations as they execute receiving, warehousing, and shipping operations. They will provide continual improvement strategies and support of each RAH facility to ensure operational productivity and performance targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly. Additionally, they will assist with all warehouse workflow projects, including pallet racking, 5S implementation, process flow and layout to ensure optimized use of the space. They will work to implement, monitor, audit and report on Rise Against Hunger’s health and safety program to ensure compliance, risk management and overall to ensure the organization maintains a healthy and safe workplace for all employees. They will conduct regular audits to monitor and collaborate with leaders to resolve issues and manage the safety and compliance of Rise Against Hunger people, facilities and equipment. The Global Operations Manager will act as a back up if/when the Director of Global Operations is unavailable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
30% Facility Risk and Compliance Management
- Serve as a point of contact for all incident reporting. Submit property claims to insurance.
- Establishes, adds to/modifies and updates all predictive/preventive maintenance requirements for all Rise Against Hunger locations including heavy machinery PMs, HVAC PMs, Scale calibration and fire extinguisher certificates.
- Audit Warehouse items (scale cert, forklift PMs, HVAC, fire extinguishers).
- Manage national Pest Control contracts and ensure facilities are receiving services monthly. In the case of a pest control incident, the Domestic Operations Network manager will help troubleshoot with local team.
- Implement Key Control Policy ensuring it is followed when there are departures from the organization.
- Conduct Quarterly Warehouse Inspection sheets and propose repairs and maintenance to ensure the safety and compliance of the facilities.
- Manage and update Safety Intranet page and share our information to promote and support programs.
20% Maintain Organizational Operational Procedures and Health & Safety Programs (HSP)
- Tracks safety statistics including drafting annual OSHA logs.
- Promotes safety awareness and culture through a variety of methods including training, newsletter articles, quizzes, emails, safety stand downs, and other communications.
- Coordinates PPE procurement and inspections, manages PPE vendors, and monitors PPE expenditures.
- Organizes internal safety reviews on project sites and in office locations.
- Monitors updates to federal and state health and safety regulations and updates Hanson documentation when required.
- Partners with People Ops to monitor, and implement safety programs and training.
- Enhances safety culture through improvements to safety policies, training, and communications.
- Works with key stakeholders to determine safety training needs and coordinate training assignments; utilizes safety training platforms to assign and track trainings.
- Chairs Safety Committee meetings and follows through to implement recommended solutions.
- Manage and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures.
- Stay up to date on supply chain trends & technologies and evaluate if and how they can be applied.
- Participate in cross functional projects across the business to effectively drive change in service, cost, and inventory.
- Manage and direct the work of others, including employees, contractors, and volunteers.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and influencing skills along with ability to interact with management and to collaborate with peers and other functions.
20% Incident Administration
- Collaborates with People Ops and other stakeholders for injury and illness reporting and post-incident investigations
- Participate in cross functional projects across the business to effectively mitigate and prevent risk based on incidents that occur.
20% Manage Vehicle and Driver Compliance Program
- Control DOT operating number and renewal process once a year
- Maintenance management of leased and/or owned Rise Against Hunger vehicles
- Enroll and update FMCSA registration yearly
- Serve as main point of contact for incident reporting and claims for vehicle damage (truck, van and passenger vehicles)
- Manage JJ Keller relationship to oversee driver qualification records in compliance with DOT federal requirements including DOT Certifications, Drivers License copies, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) etc.
- Ensure all Rise Against Hunger driving employees meet requirements to be a commercial driver.
- Maintain and update the Motor Vehicle Safety Guide
10% Location Management Projects/3PL Management
- Assist with managing warehouse location changes (moving, closing and/or opening)
- Initiate project calls on a weekly basis cross functionally to effectively move/open/close a location
- Evaluate, select and contract with new 3PLs.
- Communicate with RAH staff engaged in 3PL partnerships.
- Communicate and visit with 3PL partners, as needed.
- Communicate with service providers, Rise Against Hunger Donor Engagement staff, volunteers, and other personnel
Perform other duties as assigned or become necessary by supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, walk, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally roll or move up to 75 pounds and move pallet jacks of 2,500 pounds utilizing pallet jacks and lifts. The employee will work on a computer and simultaneously use the telephone and must have good hand/finger dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, night vision and ability to adjust focus.

This is a remote based position working primarily from home with occasional work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse.

This position requires 20% domestic US travel.

Requirements
REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS
- Must be 25+ years or older due to travel requirements of the position
- Must maintain valid Drivers license and clean motor vehicle record
- Hold, or be able to obtain Forklift Certification
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or college in Business Management, or equivalent and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Working Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn Salesforce
- Experience directing the work of others, including employees, contractors, and vendors
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and influencing skills along with ability to interact with management and to collaborate with peers and other functions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience performing regular audits
- OSHA Certified (OSHA 10 training)
- Experience in non-profit environment
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) qualification or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM)
- Strong computer skills with ability to easily pick up additional software programs
- Previous experience or certification in Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies
- 2-4 years of experience carrying out responsibilities for a workplace health and safety program with a positive track record of success
