The Opportunity and Position Summary
The Heat Pump HVAC Category Manager is an experienced and technical expert who will support Rewiring America’s manufacturing partnerships to help scale equitable electrification throughout the country. Power Forward Communities, a coalition of which Rewiring America is a part of, was recently awarded $2 billion from the EPA as part of the National Clean Investment Fund. With the help of our growing team, we plan to use this capital to deploy subsidized loans, software products and market building tactics to ensure that Low Income & Disadvantaged Communities (LIDACs) are not left out of the clean energy transition.
In this role, the Heat Pump HVAC Category Manager will be responsible for helping shape our go to market strategies with manufacturers, distributors, and contractors to increase affordability and awareness of heat pumps, with a specific focus on LIDACs. In addition, this person will provide significant technical expertise to support account management, quantitative analyses, and other aspects of our program design.

What You’ll do
As the Heat Pump HVAC Category Manager, you will:
- Provide technical industry perspective on go-to-market playbooks, strategic planning, and account management for our heat pump HVAC vertical.
- Leverage industry supply chain and unit economics expertise to negotiate national pricing agreements with manufacturers, distributors and contractors, and identify opportunities for cost savings across the value chain.
- Support relationships with key heat pump manufacturers as we scale our LIDAC program offering.
- Work cross functionally with other internal teams such as: Community Implementation, Research & Data Science, Product, and Communications on projects related to heat pump installations in LIDACs.
- Support Rewiring America’s market shaping initiatives by driving unique, creative, and innovative concepts that push the boundaries on traditional ways of approaching the market.

Core Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to the mission, policies, and goals of Rewiring America.
- 7+ years of experience within theHVAC industry, preferably at a leading equipment manufacturer.
- Deep technical knowledge of heat pump product development and supply chain operations, from components through installation.
- Experience with business development and/or negotiations within the HVAC ecosystem, for example, with manufacturers, distributors and installers.
- Ability to operate nimbly and think creatively to build for scale.
- Analytically inclined (you love metrics) with a proven track record of translating data insights into growth plans for non-technical peers and senior leaders.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience working for a heat pump manufacturer or another corporation focused on the built environment with an emphasis in electrification

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $90,000-$130,000, commensurate to experience. Our comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 160 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also provided with two additional days off during Presidential and Congressional elections. We have an office closure between Christmas and New Year. Regular, full-time employees and part-time employees are eligible for up to sixteen weeks of paid family and medical leave on day one of employment.
