Industry Expert/Mentor-Business Analytics & Data Science (P/T, Remote, Contract)
Description
Quantic School of Business and Technology is seeking highly knowledgeable and experienced Industry Experts specializing in data science and business analytics. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing invaluable guidance, expertise, and real-world industry insights to students participating in our Masters of Science in Business Analytics program, as well as our executive programs centered around data science and analytics. You’ll play a crucial role in empowering professionals with the practical skills, knowledge, and insights they need to excel in the dynamic field of business analytics and data science.
This is a fully remote, part-time, 1099 contractor position. Pay commensurate with experience and credentials. Successful candidates will be able to commit 1-5 hours per month and enjoy virtually engaging with students.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Industry Expert, your responsibilities include:
- Conducting speaking sessions, or one-on-one imparting wisdom on business analytics and data science concepts, projects, and applications.
- Leading engaging workshops and hands-on exercises, steering projects to help students bridge the gap between theory and practice.
- Stay at the forefront of industry advancements, eagerly sharing your expertise and insights with program participants.
- Sharing real-world projects, case studies and examples derived from your industry experience to illuminate concepts and elevate the learning experience.
- Helping students prepare for technical interviews and project showcases, and identifying areas of improvement.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of hands-on industry experience in a leadership role related to data science and business analytics.
- A Master's degree or higher in a related field, with a PhD considered a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in programming languages, in at least either Python or R (both being preferable) and a solid grasp of SQL is required.
- An expert-level understanding of data science and business analytics.
- An unyielding commitment to precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent listening and communication (both oral and written) skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching at the graduate-level
- Experience working with global student cohorts and cross-cultural teams
