Full Job Description
As a Python Developer, you will be a key member of our collaborative team supporting our federal client. You will work cross-functionally in an Agile environment to develop an application using Python with a focus on the Django framework.
Must be able to understand data ingests in an AWS Cloud environment. Create public RESTful APIs. Work with backend and frontend code. Mentor peers and other developers in Python/Django design and development techniques. Participate in stand-ups, design/requirements meetings, code reviews, and internal technology sessions. Provide ideas for innovation in development, performance improvements, process improvement, and testing. Work independently on development of code and creation of unit tests.
Must be flexible, able to work in a highly collaborative environment, juggle multiple tasks at once, and work independently and collaboratively as needed. Must have superior interpersonal skills and strong communication skills.
Requirements
- 5+ years of solid Python and Django development experience
- Experience with ETL processes to ingest, transform and save content obtained from multiple data sources
- Experience with data workflows and data pipelines
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with JSON-based APIs
- Experience with Microservices
- Experience with JavaScript and JQuery
- Experience with Enterprise Search engines, such as Solr or Elasticsearch
- Agile Development (Scrum) experience
- Experience with developing and deploying to the AWS Cloud
- Experience creating CI/CD pipelines for deployment
Other Requirements
- The right candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
- The nature of being a federal contractor is that the client gets to regulate a few aspects:
- The person for this role must be authorized to work in the United States; preferably a US Citizen or Permanent Resident per our Federal client requirement.
- This person must also be able to pass a Public Trust background check/clearance required by the Federal client.
- This position is open to US-based candidates only; candidates must reside in one of the following states: Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Rhode Island, Tennessee, or Florida.
- The role will require a pre-employment background and credit check in addition to any applicable client clearance.
