Full Job Description
As the Manager of Commodities Purchasing at Our Home, you will lead and oversee the procurement of commodities to support our organization's manufacturing and production operations. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of sourcing, negotiating, and contracting suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of commodities such as corn and wheat.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies for commodities, aligning them with overall business objectives and cost target.
- Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, conducting due diligence, and negotiating contracts.
- Managing supplier relationships, resolving issues, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of materials.
- Analyzing market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain factors to optimize procurement decisions and mitigate price volatility and supply risks.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as production, logistics, and finance, to align procurement strategies with production schedules and inventory targets.
- Monitoring and managing inventory levels to optimize working capital and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Implementing and maintaining procurement systems and processes to enhance efficiency, visibility, and compliance.
- Staying updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements related to commodities purchasing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commodities purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or consumer goods environment.
- Experience with purchasing corn and wheat is essential
- In-depth knowledge of commodity markets, pricing trends, and supply chain dynamics
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing supplier contracts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed purchasing decisions based on market insights and data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Travel required: up to 20%.
