Principal Product Designer for Enterprise AI

Staff Product Designer for enterprise AI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping user experience for our enterprise AI governance software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering. You will report directly to the VP of Product Management. Define how our enterprise customers and end-users interact with our AI governance software. Partner closely with product managers, software engineers, marketing, and the sales team to define product features and front-end user layout. Deep understanding of our customer’s needs, design user workflows, build user stories, and provide guidance and feedback to engineering on front-end product features. Leverage your natural design thinking, technical expertise, and enterprise software usability understanding to build a delightful user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Enterprise Software Workflow: Drive user workflow product design from ideation to productization for our enterprise data and AI governance software platform. Map out the end-user experience, workflows, interactions, and capabilities for enterprise customers.
• User-Centered Design: Conduct user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and understand user needs. Develop user personas, journey maps, and user flows to guide the design process.
• Usability Testing and Iteration: Conduct usability testing to identify and address usability issues and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Iterate designs based on user feedback, testing results, and stakeholder input.
• Product and Technical Insights: Manage product development efforts, including research, usage analysis, design specifications, product feedback, engineering standups, and launch efforts. Evaluate the technical feasibility and practicality of workflows with product and engineering teams.
• Interface Design: Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas. Design visually appealing and functional user interfaces that align with our brand guidelines and enhance the user experience.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers to understand product requirements and translate them into design solutions. Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure the seamless implementation of designs and provide design specifications and assets. 
• Design Systems and Best Practices: Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and reusable components to ensure consistency across the product. Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and apply best practices in UI/UX design. 
• Advocacy: Advocate for a user-centric approach in product development and communicate the value of good design to stakeholders. Integrate feedback from various sources to create designs that meet user needs and business goals.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Engineering, Product Design, Data Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience working at an enterprise software company in product design, product management, UI/UX (or similar roles). 
• 5+ years of experience at an enterprise AI, Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and Observability, IT Service Management (ITSM), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Data Management, Security Operations, Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms, or Cloud Management software company. 
• Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Miro, or similar tools.
• AI/ML experience is a plus. 
• Startup experience is a plus.
• Strong track record of delivering an exceptional enterprise IT software customer usage experience.
• Deep understanding of enterprise IT customer usability workflows, user stories, and intuitive design elements. 
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Strong portfolio showcasing your design process, user research, and final designs.
• Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
• Experience with prototyping tools and methods.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
