SALT Dental Collective provides support services to Pediatric Dental and Orthodontic practices in the Pacific Northwest. Our company is growing and is looking for a talented full-time Dental Billing Coordinator to join our team - we are patient centered, fun, and provide a positive work-life balance.
As a Billing Specialist you will be responsible for task within the Revenue Cycle Management Dept. You should be proficient in using the dental practice software to update each patient’s file, run and monitor weekly and monthly reports to verify insurance payments received, and upload completed insurance forms into patients’ electronic files.
As a Billing Coordinator you will be a committed and engaged team player serving others.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Navigate multiple practice management software, including but not limited to: Dentrix, Ascend, and Denticon practice software.
- Proper posting of patient and insurance payments.
- Knowledge of applying adjustments on insurance payments.
- Accurate notation of patient accounts.
- AR reports worked diligently and routinely.
- Ensuring timely filing of all claims.
- Providing necessary information and documentation requested by insurance companies for claim payment.
- Accurate billing, queueing of patient statements regarding unpaid balances, and completing collections process if necessary.
- Payor website utilization.
- Sending corrected insurance claims and processing refunds when necessary.
- Reviewing insurance denials and actively working accounts for payment.
- Patient AR reports worked diligently and routinely
- Proficient in working patient accounts
- Outbound calls to patients regarding monies owed
- Sending dunning letters and statements timely
- Determine accounts that need to be sent to third party collection agency
- Maintaining a dedicated and quiet workspace (office) from home with no interruptions or distractions to complete your tasks during the work day.
- Reconciles monthly bank deposit spreadsheet.
- Maintains strict confidentiality, adheres to all HIPPA guidelines/regulations.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications: Experience & Skills
- Required: Three (3) years of previous dental insurance billing and follow-up experience
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to understand CDT codes and EOBs for dental insurance.
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Well-organized, detail oriented, diligent work ethic, and proficient computer skills.
- Quick learner, personable, self-started, friendly and a team player.
- Preferred experience with Dentrix Ascend and Denticon practice software.
Education
- High School graduate or GED.

- Ability to lift, carry, pull or push up to 25lbs
