We are currently seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Java Software Engineer at CTI, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of unique projects across desktop and distributed computing environments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software applications
- Work effectively as part of a team with a technical lead providing guidance and oversight
- Provide and receive feedback in code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to coding standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation that improve the stability, performance, and quality of the software
- Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies
Requirements
Necessary skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- 5 years of experience in programming, engineering, or related work
- Proficiency in Java
- Version control systems, such as Git
- Build tools, such as Gradle or Maven
- Experience driving technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identify solutions, and communicate the process and conclusions to an engineering team
- Initiative and the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
- Ability to communicate effectively via multiple mediums and with management, co-workers, and customers, both technical and non-technical
- Proficiency in writing clean code and leveraging best practices for implementation, documentation, and testing
- The ability to obtain a US security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Ability to travel at least one week per quarter

- Experience with NASA World Wind Java and/or OpenGL
- Experience with Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), Common Operational Picture (COP) platforms, and/or C5ISR platforms
