What are we looking for?
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Sleep Coach to join us as an independent contractor to deliver personalized 1-on-1 video call sessions, helping clients improve their sleep habits and address sleep-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sleep science, behavioral interventions, and excellent communication skills to guide clients toward better sleep quality. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about health and wellness, with a specific interest in sleep improvement.
BetterSleep coaches are accountability partners who guide members to recognize their strengths, motivations, and lifestyle changes needed for better sleep and overall well-being. They leverage their unique approach—whether through mental health coaching, hypnosis, or other methods—within a structured coaching framework to address each member’s sleep challenges effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual live video coaching sessions to assess clients' sleep patterns, identify issues, create personalized sleep improvement plans, and act as an accountability partner to help clients achieve better sleep habits through behavioral and lifestyle interventions, which may include:
- Goal setting
- Relaxation techniques
- Sleep hygiene practices
- Stress management
- Provide ongoing support, motivation, and education to help clients achieve sustainable sleep improvements
- Proactively inputting your availability for coaching sessions at least 45 days in advance
- Adhere to BetterSleep sleep coaching guidelines and identify when to refer members to seek more support through therapy or other clinical intervention
- Collaborate with the BetterSleep team and provide feedback to help shape program and create the best experience for our coaching and client communities
Requirements
- Fluent in English
- At least 2 years of relevant experience with 6 months of direct supervision
- Master’s degree in a psychology-related field OR a Bachelor’s degree with a coaching certificate from an NBHWC-approved program OR Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience in counseling, therapy, or health coaching
- Expertise in coaching techniques like motivational Interviewing and SMART goal setting is essential for helping members reach their sleep goals
- Escalate challenges to BetterSleep team if additional support is needed
- Experience working in health and wellness coaching, particularly in the area of sleep improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively guide and motivate clients
- Ability to empathize and build rapport with individuals dealing with sleep difficulties
- Proficiency with virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet)
The range for this position is between 45$-50$/hour USD .
