Acentra is looking for a SQA Test Engineer to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The role of the Software Quality Assurance Engineer is to understand business requirement, application’s intricacies, develop and execute test cases under moderate supervision. This role involves using established guidelines to execute test cases and analyze root cause defects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Functions as an individual contributor and works under close supervision with clearly defined guidelines and direction
- Follows general guidelines established in the test plan and receives day-to-day instruction and assignments from leadership
- Develops and modifies documents, and executes test cases from approved test strategy, project requirements, and design
- Performs Software Quality Assurance (including but not limited to graphical user interface (GUI), back-end, interface, batch, regression, automation performance Software Quality Assurance) and records results following established project standards for Software Quality Assurance, defect management, and test deliverables
- Assists with providing preliminary defect root cause analysis and verifies defect fixes
- Assists in creating basic test data to support planned tests
- Assists in updating the Requirements Traceability Matrix
- Interacts with other functional teams as required
- Provides Software Quality Assurance status updates to appropriate leadership
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of Software Quality Assurance methodologies, best practices, and procedures; and learns to apply them to projects to ensure that test objectives are achieved.
- Builds experience towards achieving basic business knowledge in one or more domains
- Adheres to company standards and processes, and provides customer support
- Possesses unwavering commitment to customer service and operational excellence
- Keeps abreast of new technology and market developments
- Requests and gives both negative and positive feedback
Requirements
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field
- 2 – 7 years of Software Quality Assurance experience;
- Experience with of defect management tool (such as Jira)
- Experience with database (such as Oracle, SQL Server, TOAD)
- Experience with SharePoint applications, Webex, Skype, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio, with a working knowledge of the rest of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Knowledge of Unix commands
- Experience working within the health industry
- Experience with the ETL process
