About the Role
The Senior Director, Sales Strategy & Planning will play a key role in the development and execution of Wellmore’s strategic growth plan. You will lead a small team and serve as the voice of sales and the customer working with marketing in the development of integrated vertical consumer/shopper plans. Day to Day, you will drive the sales planning process, work cross functionally on product development, channel optimization, pricing and ensure the sales team is armed to execute with excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Develop trade strategies to drive maximum achievement of sales, profit and ROI
- Collaborate with customer teams participating in growth-oriented annual business planning and attends customer meetings as required
- Assist in the development of sales plans for new product and line extensions
- Manage the necessary tactical revisions to plan to ensure that business objectives are met
- Work on trade investment and promotions to achieve company objectives; lead post evaluation framework to optimize promotional strategy
- Provide guidance on the Trade Tool implementation and best practices
- Provide leadership and best in class sales reporting mechanisms and systems to ensure trade spending effectiveness
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure that promotional funds as well as strategies and objectives are integrated into the field release and are consistent across business units
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of changes in customer operating philosophy and an understanding of field planning capabilities and needs.
- Develop and maintains meaningful relationships with internal and external teams.
- Lead and manage a small team
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Business, Management, Sales or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in sales strategy, trade marketing or related
- 5+ years previous experience specifically with trade management software and strategy/planning and pricing
- Experience in CPG industry with a deep understanding of the US channel and retailer landscape, preferably in food or other FMCPG categories
- Experience in both large and small CPG environments preferred
- Experience leading high performing teams; successful at fostering teamwork and developing talent
- Experience negotiating and influencing, through communication, large groups or high-level constituents/representatives of an organization
- Performance driven with desire to take on a high level of responsibility and work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated success in building sales strategy process from request/projection to post event analysis and reconciliation.
- Fluent in understanding Consumption Data from IRI, Nielsen and other sources such as Spins
- Experience working with customers across multiple channels
- Experience in managing customers, vendors, external agencies
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of the Canadian and US retail and consumer environment
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skill with a strong attention to detail
- Passion for nutrition and health
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint

The annual base salary range for this position is $180,000-210,000 USD/year. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: location, education, skills, training, and experience. This position may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
