Overview
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who will programmatically lead and support the creation and implementation of a Trading, Commercial Sales, and Finance training for a new hire program. This role will lead a stakeholder assessment to understand current and future state needs. Determine what content development is required and facilitate a successful launch and implementation for the program. In addition, the program will need to be piloted, refined and updated throughout the life of the engagement. Benchmarks and tracking mechanisms of user adoption and engagement will need to be set up and reported to program stakeholders.
The Project Manager is responsible for driving results and managing the project efforts. This role will establish and maintain relevant project documentation, reports, and discipline to standardize and optimize processes. This role will be executive facing and requires strong project management and implementation experience. This position will require extensive collaboration with Leadership and Development, Sales, Finance and other teams throughout the organization. This role requires the ability to gain advanced knowledge of assigned programs, functional disciplines and industry knowledge quickly. This position is a consulting project for 12 months+ and is full time. This position is remote and will focus on CST hours primarily, although other time zones could be requested. Some travel may be required. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and be able to work CST hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily, hands-on program/project management throughout the program life cycle
- Plan, monitor the progress, and drive results of a complex program with multiple workstreams
- Document program and project deliverables utilizing PMI PMP methodology
- Integrate business policies and governance processes into planning & accountability for project roadmaps and strategy
- Establish risk management, escalation paths, and take corrective measurements
- Build and manage business case and budget
- Partner with cross functional client resources to ensure timely, high quality project deliverables
- Facilitate, document, and lead project meetings and manage stakeholders’ communication
- Build regular project status documents for executive leadership
- Identify program KPIs to assess impact
- Coordinate, manage and monitor the workflow of cross-functional teams
- Provide and perform quality assurance checks on project artifacts and deliverables.
- Align deliverables (outputs) to the program/project workstream’s “outcome”
- Own overall integrated project plan and manage cross-functional resources, ensuring on-time delivery, meeting of budgetary demands, and achievement of business goal
- Consistently exercise informed judgment and discretion in matters of significance
Requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
Candidates must have strong practical experience in program and/or project management, which was gained through managing large and complex projects. They must have the following:
- Minimum of 7 years strong project management experience managing multiple workstreams, ideally in large companies in the Learning and Development space for the Sales and/or Finance functions
- Learning and Development, Human Resources or Project Management experience is necessary
- Knowledge of oil and gas industries strongly preferred
- Consulting experience is important and the ability to be executive facing with numerous stakeholders
- Proven knowledge of project and program management methodology and experience using a variety of project management tools such as Smartsheet and MS Project
- Experience in the L&D function working with Sales and Finance organizations is needed
- Good knowledge of learning management tools or platforms is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communications skills to stakeholders including the ability to influence, strategize and negotiate and present materials succinctly
- Ability to think analytically and process information quickly, presenting it in a succinct and insightful format suitable for executives
Qualifications/Technical Skill Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of program/project management experience and experience with formal project management methodology
- Experience working with PMO stakeholders in Learning and Development or Human Resources is necessary
- Knowledge of oil and gas or finance industries strongly preferred
- Management or Business Consultant experience is helpful
- Strong analytical, documentation and reporting skills are necessary
- Direct hands-on proficiency with PPT, Smartsheet or MS Project, and Excel (significant daily use of these tools is necessary)
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Project Management, Finance, Communications, or similar is required
- PMP certification is preferred
- Training, coaching certifications are helpful
Compensation
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a long term consulting engagement, with a compensation range of $100-140k. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
