Technical Artist / Rigger

Orange Comet is seeking a Technical Artist / Rigger with expertise in Roblox to join our team! We're bringing the biggest entertainment brands and IPs to content creation platforms such as Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite. We are seeking passionate and creative candidates who are committed to elevating our digital experiences through professional growth and collaboration to support and enhance the team's skills and capabilities. 

Responsibilities 

• Develop, maintain, and improve art pipelines, tools, and scripts that streamline content creation workflows, from modeling and texturing to animations and rigging.
• Collaborate with artists and engineers to identify and address technical challenges related to art production.
• Continually seek new technologies, tools, and techniques to improve the production process, art pipelines, and visual quality of the game.
• Provide support to the art team for day-to-day production issues.
• Create detailed, easy to read documentation of toolsets and workflows.
• Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and quality in all developed features.
• Be aware of potential risks to the project and bring them to the attention of management.

Requirements

• Experience in creating efficient workflows for artists.
• Experience writing tools to aid artist (particularly animator) workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with a remote team distributed across the world.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Interactive Media, Graphic Design or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience or certifications will also be considered.

Preferred Technologies

• Maya, Blender, or similar content creation program
• MEL, Python, or similar scripting language
• Roblox Studio 
• Git (or other version control systems)

Location

• This role is 100% remote. Orange Comet HQ located in Burbank, California.

Physical Demands

• Remaining in a stationary position, that primarily involves sitting/standing.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 25 pounds.

Compensation

The base salary range for a remote position in the United States is $60,000 USD - $160,000* USD + benefits. 

*Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
