Virtual Orthopedic Surgeon (Part Time 2-3 Hours/Week)

About This Role 

The Virtual Orthopedic Surgeon is a licensed orthopedic surgeon that provides virtual, advisory care to our spine patients as a part of our multidisciplinary care model. This is a remote, part- time role in which the specialist provides virtual patient consultations, and leads shared- decision making discussions with patients that are interested in, or requiring surgery as a treatment option. This individual works closely with our team of onsite physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver high- quality conservative musculoskeletal care, and coordinate surgical care when necessary. 

Role/ Responsibilities 

• Provides exceptional virtual consultations to patient’s suffering from spine conditions.
• Communicates clear and concise treatment recommendations to patients 
• Adopts a collaborative, patient- centered approach to creating care plans. 
• Communicates effectively, both synchronously and asynchronously, with other clinical team members.
• Completes compliant and accurate clinical documentation in the patient’s EHR.
• Completes peer- to- peer case discussions with other advanced providers 
• Shares an interest in population health, value- based care, and our vision of offering patients impartial orthopedic guidance. 

Work Location: This position is 100% remote 

Required Hours: 

• 2-3 hours per week over 2 days. Opportunity to increase in the future

Requirements

• Current Medical License

• Currently or previously board certified in Orthopedics or Spine Surgery 

• 10+ years of orthopedic surgery experience and non- operative management of spine conditions. 
• Exceptional patient communication skills and bedside manner 
• Employs an empathetic approach to patient communication 
• Promotes shared-decision making in patient care and leadership style 
• Experience providing virtual consultations is preferred but not required.
