FACILITIES ENGINEER - STERILIZATION
Salt Lake City, Utah
$90,000-110,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the routine Preventative Maintenance on sterilization equipment, and facilities HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Troubleshoot critical utilities and systems related to sterilization equipment and support systems, including: steam boilers, hot water, chilled water, vacuum, and nitrogen system.
- Troubleshoot and manage the maintenance and repair of the Sterilization building HVAC, electrical, lighting and plumbing systems.
- Manages outside contractors during specialized projects and during routine services regarding sterilization equipment and support systems
- Project Manager for new equipment installation, equipment upgrades, building upgrades and improvements.
- Perform validation on new equipment and processes (IQ,OQ, PQ, FAT).
- Write protocols for validation.
- Offers expertise in regard to continuous improvement, quality improvement, and cost reduction efforts related to sterilization equipment processes, support systems, and
- functions.
- Coordinate annual equipment requalification.
- Schedule and manage the 2 annual plant shutdowns (July and December).
- Manage the budget for projects spare parts and maintenance.
- Assess spare part inventories to ensure adequate supply on-hand.
- Perform calibration duties.
- Participate (Lead) on the sterilization Emergency Response Team.
- Work overtime as needed by the department.
- Work flexible hours as business needs require, including annual plant shutdowns.
- Be on call to handle all after-hours and weekend calls for repairs.
- Comply with all local, state, federal, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste, EPA, DAQ, DEQ regulations.
- Comply with all local quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Critical Knowledge and Skill to perform and deliver to the scope and deliverables of the job.
1. Able to read and understand PID, plans, blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams
2. Knowledge and maintenance of Fire alarm systems, BAS (building Automation system), and controls/instrumentation systems (PPM, LEL alarm systems, Lesni/chamber controls, SCADA ect...)
3. Knowledge of electrical classifications and hazardous areas and requirements.
Education and Experience:
Required (at least one of the following)
1. Bachelors Degree in engineering and five years’ experience
2. Associates Degree and ten years’ experience
3. Journeyman in skilled trade with ten years’ experience
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in Risk Management or Process Safety Management
2. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
