Human Resources Director
Full time, Salary- 50-70K DOE, Benefits, In Office-Mapleton, Utah
Help young men in a therapeutic setting as they progress on their healing journey.
Nestled next to the Uinta National Forest in the southern Wasatch Range, Discovery Ranch for Boys is a residential treatment center. We have over 25 years of experience using evidence-based practices to help families heal. At Discovery Ranch, we combine the power of traditional and experiential therapies in a relationship-based model to help our students and their families heal and move forward with their lives.
The essential functions of the HR Director include:
- Director: Develop structure, procedure, and policies for success, compliance, and accountability in a new program while maintaining strong collaboration and cooperation with all members of the leadership team.
- Manager: Lead meetings, assist in recruiting, be a part of program leadership team, supervise office workers
- Quality assurance: Ensure appropriate documentation and record keeping, maintain and update HRIS and ATS, conduct audits
- Compensation management: Enter payroll information, maintain documentation related to payroll
- Employee discipline: Counsel managers in appropriate execution of employee disciplinary action, ensure proper documentation of disciplinary action
- Administrator: Recruit, screen, and interview candidates, assist in scheduling, assist in managing KPIs, coordinate and facilitate organizational training, assist in licensing and accreditation maintenance

- Able to pass criminal investigation background check
- Able to pass motor vehicle record check
- Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
Required skills/abilities:
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with employees at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Required Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, Recruiting and/or Compliance management
- 2+ years of management experience
- Experience with some form of HRIS or HRM
- Experience with payroll and benefits administration
Preferred education and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in human resource management or a related field, or equivalent experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience
- Experience in a helping profession or mental health facilities
- HRCI PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification
