Full Job Description
The Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, a prominent medical practice in the region, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join their team. As a trusted provider of healthcare services, the Tribe is dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of the Native American population and the underserved community members.
In this role, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to provide primary care, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases, and promote preventive care. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for delivering patient-centered care, promoting culturally appropriate practices, and making a positive impact on the community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, including patient history, physical examinations, and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Formulate and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications, performing minor medical procedures, and offering patient education and counseling
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to formulate and implement patient care plans
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date and organized medical records
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of treatments and make necessary adjustments based on patient responses
- Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatment options, and preventative care strategies
Requirements
General Requirements:
- Must be insurable through the Tribe’s vehicle insurance required.
- Must pass a criminal and fingerprint background check according to P.L. 101-630 standards required.
- Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening required.
- Must successfully complete the PA/NP credentialing process required.
- Must pass a physical examination prior to or contemporaneous with hiring required.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Studies.
- Three (3) years’ experience in a medical clinic setting required.
- Completion of a formal program designated for the education and preparation of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required.
License & Certification:
- Must possess, maintain, and provide proof of a valid Driver’s License required.
- Must possess, maintain, and provide proof of a valid Board-Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner required.
- Must possess, maintain, and provide proof of a valid DEA License required.
- Must possess, maintain, and provide proof of a valid First Aid, CPR and BLS Certified or obtain within three (3) months of hire required.
