Finishing Technician

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking Grinder Operator for a short-term assignment. This person operates industrial grinding machines to grind metal parts, tools, and other components. They ensure the machines are correctly set up, monitor the grinding process, and inspect finished products to ensure quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Set up, operate and maintain grinding machines.

·       Select grinding wheels and other related tools.

·       Perform quality control checks on products.

·       Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to.

·       Additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by department supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·       High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

·       1-3 years minimum related work experience or formal training

·       Ability and experience operating and maintaining grinding machinery.

·       Strong communication skills

·       Ability to follow instructions.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES

·       Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

·       Ability to operate a grinding machine.

·       Ability to use measuring equipment.

·       Ability to work with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

·       Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.

·       Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.

·       Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work.

·       Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

·       Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures: safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, machine interlocks, lifting guidelines, etc. as designated in specific work area assigned.

·       Strong work ethic: Willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines as needed.
