Full Job Description

The Rikert Outdoor Nordic Center Manager oversees all Rikert Outdoor Nordic Center operations to provide an excellent visitor experience to the patrons. The Rikert Outdoor Nordic Center operates cross country trails, hiking and fat bike trails through the winter months in the green mountains of Vermont.

This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $54,746-71,453 per year.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Develops and promotes Rikert Outdoor Nordic Center programs, services and events, in and off season.
  • Oversees all Rikert operations including staffing, training, budget management, marketing, safety audits, ordering and stocking supplies, and documentation including certifications, rental and service records.
  • Provides exceptional customer service across all areas of Rikert operations including scheduling, coordinating and organizing all races, training, and grooming/snowmaking needs, with internal and external customers.
  • Oversees Rikert grooming, snowmaking, mowing and trail maintenance.
  • Coordinates preseason setup and postseason breakdown of operational spaces with Breadloaf personnel.
  • Works cooperatively with other user groups such as the Frost Mt. Club, high school ski team, Bill Koch League, Catamount Trail Association, etc.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 3-5 years of touring center or related experience. College experience preferred.
  • Exemplary Customer Service skills and the ability to multi task during periods of high activity.
  • Business related experience in Fiscal Management, Marketing, and supervisory management.
  • 5 plus years of experience in outdoor recreation management and significant cross-country ski business exposure.
  • Experience with trail grooming, maintenance and equipment operation including tractors, chainsaws, brush hog and bachoe.
  • Proficient in computer skills such as online research and Microsoft Word and Excel

Physical Demands:

Occasional heavy lifting, and long hours of standing, walking and cross-country skiing.
