JOB SUMMARY
Prince Industries, formerly Bradford Machine, is seeking a quality manager to join the team.
The Quality Manager leads the quality and continuous improvement effort at Prince Industries. This includes;
a) leadership of the quality department
b) development, implementation, auditing and continuous improvement of the quality management system.
Management of the department includes development of the production control plans, first article and final inspections, and the application of statistical techniques to quality issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates daily with Sales, Production, & Engineering personnel.
- Participates in APQP to ensure key quality and functional requirements are properly defined and incorporated.
- Participates in the development of inspection documentation for First Piece, In Process and Final Inspections. Ensures that specific customer and internal requirements are reflected on these documents.
- Management of internal records relating to compliance and quality throughout the design/production/manufacturing process
- Implements methods to inspect, test and evaluate products in production and prior to shipment.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Reviews and submits First Article submissions.
- Analyzes production limitations and standards relating to quality issues. (i.e.: capability studies).
- Trains production team in production practices and quality assessment of goods.
- Makes and implements recommendations to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
- Coaches and develops quality team with set KPI’s to meet company goals.
- Attends MRB meetings.
- Maintains inspection and test equipment.
- Checks accuracy of parts inspected by subordinates to blueprint specifications for such info as dimensions and tolerances (i.e. GD&T).
- Responsible for successful maintaining and certification of standards such as Evaluate and audit current QMS processes and documentation for compliance
- ISO:9001 (Quality Manuals, procedures, and related documentation)
- Supervises and ensures the accuracy of new gauges and instruments for conformance to blueprint specifications before they are released for production use.
- Recommends revision of quality specifications when indicated. (i.e.: ISO/QS).
- Provides quality support to Customers and Suppliers.
- Resolves customer complaints (Corrective Actions) relating to quality of company's manufactured products.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES
- Excellent attention to detail and well organized.
- Multitasking skillset required.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and personnel.
- Excellent computer skills to effectively generate reports, input required data or present information.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
- High proficiency in blueprint reading including GD&T and inspection techniques.
- Must possess knowledge of material types and finishes.
- CMM Programming experience is preferred.
- Independent and willing to take initiative.
- Strong work ethic and highly motivated.
- Exceptional knowledge of Quality Certification policies (QS/ISO).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 5 or more years of experience in precision machining.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role
