General Role Description
Provide support for test lab activities and research potential design problems with products in the field
Role Accountabilities
- Resolve client design issues with new products, including troubleshooting issues at the job site if necessary, and documenting issues for escalation to development engineering, under the direction of appropriate technical personnel
- Recommend product upgrades and changes to promote safety and functionality
- Develop commissioning checklists, coursework and safety procedures needed for successful deployment of new products, under the direction of appropriate technical personnel
- Perform development testing activities as assigned to ensure work is accomplished productively and safely
- Facilitate factory witness tests to ensure client expectations are met
- Maintain lab equipment, including safety equipment, and instrumentation such that it is functional and in calibration
- Maintain current safety qualifications appropriate to the assigned tasks
- Adhere to both Company and client safety requirements as required
- Ensure a safe and organized lab environment, recommending upgrades and training as needed
- Ensure proper safety equipment is available and in good working condition, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in science or engineering or equivalent via education and/or work experience
- Classes, labs, and projects with a concentration in some combination of electrical power systems, control systems theory, power electronics, software engineering, mechatronics, or AC/DC drives and motors.
- Co-op, internship, or other work experience
- Demonstrated presentation skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
- Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 30%, sometimes with limited notice
- Ability to work in outdoor environments in high and low temperatures
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. periodically
- Ability to work standing for long periods of time on hard surfaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Research project or thesis in the areas of electrical power systems, control systems theory, power electronics, software engineering, mechatronics, or AC/DC drives and motors.
- Co-op, internship, or other work experience in above areas
