Cake Decorator

Blackbird Bakery, a renowned bakery located in the heart of downtown, is seeking a talented Cake Decorator to join our team. Our bakery is known for creating beautiful and delicious cakes.

As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for bringing our clients' cake visions to life. You will have the opportunity to work closely with customers to understand their design preferences and requirements. Using your creative skills and attention to detail, you will decorate cakes with precision, creating beautiful and unique designs.

In addition to decorating cakes, you will also assist with cake preparation and baking. You will work alongside our bakers to ensure that cakes are baked to perfection and ready for decoration. You will also assist with inventory management, tracking cake supplies and ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Decorate cakes according to customer preferences and design specifications
• Work closely with customers to understand and fulfill their cake design requirements
• Assist with cake preparation and baking
• Maintain accurate inventory records of cake supplies and ingredients
• Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation standards
• Keep work area clean and organized

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cake Decorator or related role
• Proficient in cake decorating techniques and designs
• Creative and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds including heavy cake tiers
