We are now seeking a Statistician Intern to join our team for the fall 2024 semester.
You Will:
- Formulate queries to extract, manipulate, format, and present data stored in relational databases. Use SQL, R, Python, Excel or other software as appropriate to task.
- Perform data analysis through such functions as: creating summaries and tables; running summary statistics, trend analyses and estimations; refining database queries to generate subsets of databases and tables.
- Effectively communicate with and between technical and non-technical end users, providing clear explanation of procedures used and results obtained from data analysis tasks.
- Provide assistance to Managers in monitoring, updating, and maintaining tracking logs.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance. Peer reviews Statisticians and Data Analysts’ work and prepares reports on analysis.
- Participate in team projects and brainstorming sessions to assess various methodologies for study designs.
- Conduct, validate and peer review sampling and extrapolations. Review methodologies for increased efficiency and accuracy.
- Remain informed regarding industry changes, trends, best practices and applicable regulations and assesses impact of changes on the project.
Requirements
You Are:
- In the master’s program for statistics, applied statistics, mathematics, or other related approved degree.
- Biostatisticians with public health backgrounds are desired.
- Comfortable with databases performing functions as data cleaning and maintenance; extracting data, importing/exporting data into various formats (Ex. .CSV, text, Excel, etc.)
- Proficient in both random and stratified sampling methods and variable and attribute analysis.
- Proficient in extrapolating sample review results to a universe.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Data analysis experience within the healthcare industry.
- Advanced knowledge of analytic, mathematical, and statistical methods.
- Proficient in project software: SQL, R, Python, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- RAT-STATS experience
