Engineering Manager

Vision Point Systems, Inc. is recruiting for an Engineering Manager to oversee and manage corrosion engineering projects. A qualified person will be an engineer by trade, but have the skills and experience to manage the programmatic requirements for various Department of Defense programs with the Navy and Marines. General duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Formulate, organize, and monitor mechanical/materials/corrosion related projects

Decide on suitable strategies and objectives with senior leadership

Coordinate cross-project activities with engineers, project leads, etc.

Mentor/oversee/manage engineers/junior engineers

Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities

Apply change, risk, and resource management

Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI

Resolve projects higher scope issues

Prepare reports for clients, senior leadership and other stakeholders.

Explain complex engineering concepts to internal staff and external customers.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or other similar engineering degree from an accredited university or college is required.
• The candidate must have demonstrated professional writing and presentation skills.
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Requires US Citizenship.
• 2+ years of program management experience, preferably with engineering/science based government contracts.
• Must be able to influence staff and customers to gain trust, establish a strong team environment, meet short and long term strategic goals.
• Must be able to travel 10-15% of the time.
• Must be willing to work interchangeably between Fairfax, VA and Bethesda, MD, when needed.

Desired Skills:

• Experience working with and supporting US Navy and/or US Marine Corps programs is highly desired.
• Technical expertise in materials science/engineering (especially corrosion and coatings), electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and military vehicle/ship platforms is desired.
• Experience with data analysis and statistics is a plus.
• A Master's Degree in Engineering Management, along with a minor/concentration in business, economics, data analysis, statistics, etc... is highly desired.
