Job Description: As a Financial Analyst, you will play a vital role in managing and optimizing the organization's financial resources. This position involves assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of DARPA's annual budget, ensuring effective allocation and utilization of funds.
You will conduct detailed financial analyses to support decision-making processes, prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasts, and ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and policies. Additionally, you will support procurement activities by assisting in acquisition strategy development and conducting financial evaluations of proposals.
Your role will also include tracking and reporting on budget execution and performance metrics, contributing to the overall financial health and efficiency of DARPA's operations.
Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be critical in ensuring the Comptroller's office meets its strategic financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Providing financial and accounting support to the Defense Research Project (DARPA)
- Leading the execution of complex tasks and performing more complex analytical and evaluative work requiring a comprehensive knowledge of
- Theory and principles;
- Financial and management organization, operations, and practices;
- Pertinent statutory or regulatory provisions;
- Related basic economic, accounting, and legal principles.
- Assisting programs/project personnel with financial tracking, budget formulation, execution, and overall financial support. Provides support with a variety of management activities, corporate initiatives, special projects, and data calls, which could have a significant impact on the organization and its business operations.
Requirements
- A BA Degree in Business, Management, Finance, or Accounting.
- Secret Clearance is required.
- Five (5) years of general experience
- Five (5) years of specialized financial or accounting experience in DoD policy.
- Financial Management experience should include financial analysis of business programs, development of cost estimates, program status reports, and demonstrated knowledge of DoD Federal Management Regulations (FMR), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and PPBE.
- Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliation of payment, and other financial tools to perform budget and financial analysis, including but not limited to obligation, expenditure, monitoring, and reporting.
- Experience using DoD financial management systems, such as DAI.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DoD FMR, FAR, PPBE, and DoD procurement experience.
