Full Job Description
Our partner is seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to provide virtual behavioral health services to low to moderate acuity patients. This role supports a tele-behavioral health contract with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and involves delivering treatment to military personnel. The position is fully remote anywhere in the US, following a two-week training period in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct brief, evidence-based virtual counseling sessions for individuals and groups.
- Develop, monitor, and document treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
- Use the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM) for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Exercise clinical judgment in accordance with stated policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain medical records and documentation using approved electronic systems.
- Recommend hospitalization or determine fitness for duty as needed.
- Conduct evaluations and prepare reports for Medical Evaluation Boards (MEB) and other military processes.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement.
- Provide psychiatric care and follow-up for chronic outpatients and triage patients.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals for comprehensive patient care.
- Direct Quality Assurance efforts within the area of responsibility.
- Update patient charts and documentation in a timely manner, adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure safety and appropriate therapeutic outcomes for patients.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited institution.
- Completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship in professional psychology.
- Minimum of two years of post-graduate experience as a Clinical Psychologist using virtual platforms, with experience in military health systems preferred.
- Valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology in a U.S. state or jurisdiction.
- Ability to fulfill credentialing requirements and maintain relevant clinical privileges.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross.
- Experience in a military environment is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and sit for prolonged periods.
