Full Job Description
Your chance to work for a process manufacturer based in Virgina. They are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer on a permanent staff basis. You will have the option to be based out of either Suffolk, Virgina or South Charleston, Virgina.
You will be directly reporting to the Associate Director of Design Engineering & Plant Support, and you will indirectly oversee around 5 staff members. You will provide mechanical engineering support for Capex projects and plant-based work.
Daily Responsibilities:
· Perform Detailed Engineering analysis, calculations, design, and sketches for Capex, plant support, and construction installations.
· Reviews and approve key engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents.
· Develop equipment specs related to material handling, packaging, pumps, and tanks.
· Provides supervision and technical direction to Designers, Drafters and Engineers.
· Develop project scopes and estimates (hours and TICs) related to mechanical design and engineering.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
· Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a relative field.
· Experience of creating equipment specification.
· Working knowledge of either ANSI, OSHA, NFPA, ASME, API and other code and regulatory requirements.
· Experience of design packages ideally CAD or equivalent.
· Good analytical abilities and should be adept at problem solving are required.
· Presentation of calculations and results in an organized manner and orderly record keeping are necessary skills.
· Industry experience in either process manufacturing, chemicals, petrochemicals, or OSHA regulated environment.
